Cant get smart tv settings to play dolby digital receiver

How is the TV connected to the receiver, and what model # for TV and receiver?

ARC and optical out may have to be turned on in the TV audio menu. Sometimes you have to turn the TV speakers off too.
You may also have to assign the connection to an input in the receiver input set up menu.
