Hey guys,
I am trying to attach my laptop to an HDTV. I know it isn't the cable or laptop at fault, since they both work on other HDTVs. So, what is wrong with the TV? It is 1366x768, and 23". The model is Toshiba 23HLV84. Thank you!
If the second display is recognised, your laptop resolution should have defaulted to the same resolution as the TV and the TV should be showing a clone of the laptop screen.
What do you see at this point on the TV, just a black screen?

The laptop resolution changes, yet the TV stays black.
The "bump" thing is pretty annoying. You'll get an answer when I'm online.
If the laptop resolution changes, it suggests it is sending out a video signal to the TV. Have you tried any other HDMI sources on the TV, e.g. a blu-ray player?
