Connecting satellite box to projector

Hi, having trouble connecting my Openbox satellite receiver (hdmi) to my Sanyo pro xtra20 projector (dvi-d) HDDC COMPIANT ! All other hdmi sources connect successfully , I'm using a hdmi to dvi-d dual link cable but with no success , is it a cable issue ? Will a single link cable make a difference ? I'm clutching at straws here !! Any help much appreciated !!

I think you will need a standard HDMI to DVI cable (non dual link). If your sat receiver doesn't have an audio output that you can use you will need an adapter like this one

since HDMI carries digital audio but DVI only video.

thanks for the suggestion , ill try it out and hope for the best , not too sure why the dual link wouldnt work on the sat box , but does on all other sources , very much appreciated !!
