Is TH a legitimate news source, or just an ESPN-highlight-reel version of the news? I feel like this article does little to actually highlight the reality of this story, where Sony is attempting to redefine the boundary between manufacturer and consumer ownership. The register did little to help the article, as they gave a biased opinion, saying that "The IBM Cell processor is good for brute force attacks, among other things." To exclusively highlight the use of the hardware in brute force attacks gives an unfair bias to the story, one which harms the positive uses of the processor. To better understand this logic, think of the computer. You can surf the web, sure, but you can also use it for devious things, such as watching illegal types of pornography, and hacking into databases. But to only mention the pornography or hacking is to discredit all of the other benefits of computers and technology.
