Error Code 0xc00000000f. Won't boot from CD Drive at all.

I have a Gateway NV53 laptop, and a while back I restarted it and it just wouldn't turn on. I've tried windows install disc, windows recovery disc, but i keep getting this "Error Code 0xc000000000f" it is telling me it wants me to boot from my recovery CD, but it won't let me. Anyone know what i can do to fix this?

You may have either a defective optical drive or a damaged disc. Can you get your hands on an external DVD drive and use that? If you get the same error code, then there is a good chance the problem is with the Windows DVD.

Have you tried the standard troubleshooting steps like checking and fixing the MBR entries? You may have caught something, or installed something that messed around with the MBR.
