Extracting audio from video Audition 1.5

Hi,

I'm new here.
Some weeks ago my pc crashed and I had to reïnstall Win7. I lost all programs too. I reïnstalled Audition 1.5 but the only thing that's not working is FILE - EXTRACTING AUDIO FROM VIDEO (like MP4 files) The message says: THE SELECTED FILE IS NOT A SUPPORTED VIDEO FORMAT OR THE VIDEO CODEC REQUIRED TO OPEN THIS FILE WAS NOT FOUND.
But this option worked fine before the crash.
I tried several codecs and plugins but nothings works.
Has anyone an idea?

Do you have any dvd player software on hand? Installing that may help.

I use VLC-player for many years (2.0.7|). Als o Windows mediaplayer is installed.

I've had great luck with Audacity when opening mp4's to extract audio.

I know that doesn't help your Audition 1.5 issue, but an alternative if anything.
