get photos from sd card

my sd card says needs formatting
both in the camera & various computers
not a fault of the card lock have tried both options
also have downloaded various programs
which did not help

At this point your SD card may be considered inoperable. Do you properly eject the card from both your camera and your computer? Most people do not realize that you need to properly eject the card so that current and previous work files you have been using save to the card in their entirety and not error or malfunction trying to insert them into another device. Your SD card might be registering to the Computer or camera that it is mounted or open already and will not recognize the card data because it considers it in use. It is relatively easy to put an SD card out of commission. Have you tried any File extraction applications to pull your files that you want before you have to format it?
