HELP! Looking for the right laptop for casual gaming, good for watching movies and not so pricey

Help guys! I'm looking for laptop for casual gaming and watching movies. I would like a laptop that is able to play games like Assassins creed, GTAV and the likes without any problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

these are the minimum specs that I need, hope anyone of you could help me.
CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q8400 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz
CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or AMD Radeon HD 4870 (512MB VRAM with shader Model 4.0 or higher)


P.S. I'm gonna buy soon so I need suggestions ASAP.

You did not list your budget but for a "gaming" laptop you'd need to spend around $1,000 to get anything decent that you won't regret getting.

That's on the low side for anything that will be able to run demanding games. If you are OK with being on Low settings, Lenov Y40 is pretty good for your price. MSI CX61 2PC-499US is $700 Acer Aspire V5-572G-6679 may also work.

Keep in mind that you may not be very happy with how the games run.

Asasins Creed and GTA V is not "light gaming". Light gaming is SIMS 3, World of Warcraft. The games you want to play require a decent computer.

If you can go up another $200 you can get a gaming laptop that you'll be just abot fully happy with, if not, you may want to think about getting a desktop.

Just look up the video card on those, easy way I use to get a rough feel for the speed is although not the most accurate is http/www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

Search of the required or recommended video card for the game, note it's overall rank. Then search for the video card in the system you want. If it's the same or better, it's OK to get. What you listed in the minimum specs is the GTX 260, that is ranked 187 currently so you'd need a video card in the laptop to be in that ranking as well which is better than the nVidia 840m card, around the nVidia 860m speeds.

Don't worry much about the CPU as any laptop with a video card good enough for those games will have a CPU that will match it.

In general, a gaming video card should be in the 200 overall rank for low range gaming, that is about where the old 9800 GT is at, although you want to be around the 100 ranking like the Radeon 7750 and 7770 are at. The mid range cards are in the 50-70 range, and good cards 30 or less.

The 840M video card is a bit slow, although passable, but I suggest something a tier or two up over that for something you will be happy with. For games, try to stretch what you can spend to get a system with a 860M card or same range for AMD.
