How to hook up sound bar to satellite box and tv

hello all, i want to hook up my sound bar to the tv and i have a HDPVR box(cable box) and HDTV and not sure if i use the HDMI cable from the box and tv or do i have to buy another HDMI cable. I need some desperate help pls, the manual is not clear for me at all.

Without knowing what kind of connections you have on your sound bar you have two general options.
If the sound bar has HDMI input then connect the cable DVR to the soundbar with HDMI and the soundbar to the TV with HDMI.
If the soundbar has optical digital audio input then you connect the cable DVR to the TV with HDMI and connect the TV to the soundbar with an optical (Toslink) cable.
