how to restore a toshiba satellite to factory settings windows xp 0 doesn't work

please help trying to restore Toshiba satellite to factory setting the 0 is not working for me and I don't have the disc . asking for a password ,,, and want let me do nothing any help would be so greatly appreciated . Thanks

Hi

You have not said exactly which model Toshiba so we can't look up details for you

Sometimes there is a password set on the recovery process
Fortunately it is usually a plain text file, on the recovery partition,
Which can be read after booting up off a bootable Linux cd or windows PE

I can't go into further details as I don't have the toshiba model details to be sure of the process
