i am having a samsung 40 '' lcd tv which does not have ARC port and sony 5.1 home theater AND i want to get TV out put through 5.1 speakers.The model number of my Samsung TV is LA40A550 and of Home theater system is.SONY BDV-E490/ME12.pLEASE OFFER ME A Solution .

Your TV does not seem to have any audio outputs let alone ARC so short of modifying the TV you cannot connect it to any HT equipment. If you have sources connected to the TV they will have to feed audio to the Sony directly.

Digital Audio Out to your Sony Digital Audio IN {let say TV Digital Audio In , That's what I have on my old Sony Receiver} or any Digital Audio In on the Receiver just remember what you pick. Or the Audio Out RCA Jack's to the Receiver, same thing

Your best option is to use Optical cable (if our Sony has one), this is the only way to enjoy 5.1 sound. Next option is to get red-white chinch cables, and pass audio from TV to the receiver.
