to run my computer to my tv and my computer only has a hdmi plug in & I don't have any money to be able to buy a converter or any kind of cable that would make it simple. I dont have cable, someone gave me this cable box to see if i could run the hdmi from my computer to it an it pull up on tv.. I just really need to know if thats even possible because Im desperate to figure this out an tired of wasting time & defiantly having to watch tv off this really small computer screen HELP

The cable box has an HDMI OUT, not in. You can't connect your PC to the cable box to "convert". If you are watching TV on the computer screen, how are you getting the signal to the computer screen ?

What model is the TV ?

I'm watching Amazon on a laptop an it's a older model Phillips tv

OK. Streaming on a laptop. You will have to get the model of the TV so that we can look up a user's manual or pictures. OR post pictures of all the ports on the back of the unit.

It's a big box tv, all it has is av jacks & a cable jack

I knew that all along, if you read my question again I stated I do not have any money to do so right now. Thanks

Then there is no answer. You have an output of type "A" and a monitor with only type "B" inputs. You have no money to purchase a converter, therefore you have no way to get from point "A" to point "B" .
