I have a sylvania flat screen with hdmi hook up. I have panasonic blue ray dvd with hdmi caable . When i connnected, a terrib

as above terrible clattering sound when hooking the hd

Try another HDMI input if you have one.
To figure out where the problem is you have to try the Bluray and cable on another TV.
If it works then the Sylvania is at fault.
If not then try a different cable.
If it still is bad try an different HDMI source on the Sylvania with the same cable.
