I have an older Samsung rear projection TV. I have a digital converter box hooked up to it with the red white and yellow RCA wires, the converter box also has an HDMI hook up. So I bought a HDMI to component cord, to replace the RCA cords. And now I can't get anything, what am I doing wrong

Are you connecting the RCA plugs to the Input plugs on the projector?
Is the projector setup to external input via the RGB?

I'm confused, the converter box I have is analog to digital, I plugged in the HDMI part of the cord I bought into the converter box and then the three wires into the TV component part
