Hey guys, recently I had to dissolve my old ass laptop (Dell Inspirion 1501) and I kinda messed it all up because a couple of the cables fell off, when I put them all back in, I noticed that only the touch pad started working again, but not the keyboard. Weird thing is that I can see the keyboard in my keyboard options.
My question is: is the cable for touch pad and keyboard the same? And how should I fix this?
Thanks.

Solution
No the keyboard and the touchpad are not the same cables.

You need to take the keyboard back out and reinsert the ribbon cable in its slot, It has to be in straight and flush all the way, and make sure the exposed metal is facing the pins in the slot.

Otherwise you will need to take it to repair shop so they can get it put back together correctly.

I did as you said, now I'm writing back with the laptop.
Thanks a million!
