Laptop Screen Flickering even after replacing Graphics IC chip in motherboard

My Compaq laptop screen is flickering too much..Is there any possibility that LCD screen needs to be replaced?

Sounds like the screen or the invertor is the issue. If the screen is flickering, can you see the image of the screen still, like the backlight is going out but the image is still there.

And who replaced the graphics chip? That usually requires BGA soldering skills and not for the faint heatered.

I've consulted a technician who replaced the GPU,but still the flickering issue is not resolved. Now He is telling that the LCD itself needs to be replaced. How can i be sure that its the LCD problem?

Did you get the GPU replaced because of the flickering? Whoever said you needed a new GPU to fix a flickering screen before looking at the LCD and more likely, the invertor, well.....

Now I asked, but I'll ask again. When the screen is flickering, can you see the image still on the screen, but with no back lighting?

LCD screen replacement has RESOLVED the flickering issue !
