LG TV - External Audio not working (anymore)

All,

I recently purchased a 65" LG HDTV, and I was initially able to connect my ancient receiver system to it via the RCA ports while using HDMI for my cable. I would set my receiver to "TV" and voila! I had sound. Everything worked great until LG pushed a firmware upgrade a few months ago, and I have not been able to use my sound system ever since.

TV = LG 65UH5500 HDTV
Receiver = Pioneer VSX-D711

I don't know what else to do to get my external sound to work. I read LG's manual and watched a few videos, but that doesn't solve my problem.

What can/should I do to get my sound back?

It probably reset your setting(s).

Every TV is s a little different so don't follow literally but I would look under Menu ---> Sound ---> External Spkr Enable yes/no etc. HDMI to receiver for sound also calls for ARC Enable Yes/no.
