Today Nvidia announced their new GPU. Pascal 1000 series. It looks beasty and it's going to be in shops very soon. 1080 in the end of may and 1070 on 10th of June.
But nothing was said about mobile version.
What do you guys expect? Will it be released this summer and if yes, how long till laptops released featuring Pascal GPU? Is it even worth to consider it?

I have 4 year's old laptop's and as a student in a 12 m2 room. Full desktop is not ab option :(

970M came out nearly a month after 970 so there is a chance that 1070M will launch in the summer but I believe it will be too expensive.
I can't even afford a 970M. ;(

Do you mean it will cost the same amount as the 970 did when it came out?

It would be great if there would be the mobile versions as well. Are there going to be newer Quadro cards as well?

Yup, it should be around the same price. Which I think is fine.

As for the 1000m price tag on a laptop. I think its affordable .Lets look at this properly.

If we take alienware laptop, latest design 15ich with i7 and 970m. They are around £1.300. In pounds. SO I hope thats okay with you guys.

Obviously the price change based on the customisations. Which is okay. Most 970m laptos 15ich are around £1.5K. If you look at generic Macs. Which are bullshit and overprices and cant even run games. But Macs are a whole different story. Premium laptops in general are expensive. Because they use high quality components, as well as high end components. Its how it is, unfortunately.

If you work, and have steady income its fine.
I hope it will be released soon after 1070/1080 are released. I will be diving on it. I cant play modern games on a laptop with 635m. Its not even designed for game lol

Price for a desktop 1070 was announced this morning. Its around $399. Which I think is a good price, considering how powerful it is. Its better than 980 and Titan x

Sounds good to me. I had mine GTX 970 around a year and a half and that was £350 at the time when I bought it.

Are the Quadro cards also have like newer technology?

It is for CAD work and 3D modelling + rendering

Would you say there is any point upgrading my GTX 970 to the 1070? It is still a very good graphic card, can play any game at high settings with good FPS.

I would't. Wait for Volta GPU which is aiming for 2018. I think it would be a better option for you. 970 is solid and will last for next 3/4 years without a sweat :)

The downside to Volta is that its PCIE 4 and wont fit any current motherboards, if you are on skylake and older you will need to get a upgrade just to use any new graphics cards.

Exactly. In that time you may want a full upgrade. Maybe not 2, but in 3 years possibly.
