I have a very low-end Rebel T3 camera from Canon and am trying to import it into Hitfilm4 on a PC but it is saying that I need to install QuickTime and I did but i don't know what to do and it is still not working.
.mov is a container. Your PC said to install Quicktime because it originated with quicktime, but if you don't have the codecs for the video/audio inside the container, it won't work.
Go to one of these sites (only one) and install the codec pack. do not install both.
You can also use VLC as your media player. It includes its own codecs built-in so you don't need to install one. Every other media player out there uses Windows to decode the video for it, so relies on codec packs like above.
