My Asus model x550c will not power up after replacing power adaptar.

Hi, My parrot chomped my power cord so I had to replace it. When I plug the new adapter in, there is no power,even the orange light that comes on to show its charging is not on.
Any idea what the cause could be and how do I fix it..

To me it sounds as though the "new" power adapter is faulty - I think I'd look to exchange it. If you have a multi-meter you can check to ensure it is putting out the 19V it is supposed to.

Thanks for the reply. I should have posted this and forgot, this is the second new one I have bought. I too had the thought it was the adapter but I'm thinking its not the case now.

A common occurrence on portable devices (not only laptops) is the power jack gets worn, yours appears to be a modular type http://pcpartsoutlet.com/index.php/asus-x550c-series-dc-power-jack-with-power-dc-jack-cable-14004-01450000-genuine.html that is easily replaceable (aside from having to get into the laptop).
