Camera will not turn ON - New Battery installed and charged - Camera engaged - still no lens
retraction

Lens mechanism may have jammed so give camera a few firm taps on a padded surface, with battery inserted and camera switched on.

If still no dice and it's still covered by warranty, contact the manufacturer.
