So I bought a Hi-Fi system second hand a few weeks ago and bought some speaker wires to hook up the two Sony speakers that came with it. Speakers are fantastic but the sub that came with it is not putting out any bass,
The sub has a white and red RCA connection on the back and the receiver has one black RCA connection called Subwoofer Out. I am using an RCA cable with the white/left end in the receiver's sub out port and the white/left end in the white/left port in the sub.
I have tried using the red/right end of the cable and even using it with both ends in the sub to no avail. The guy I bought it off said it works when watching DVDs but not with music through AUX. I have done a bit of searching and it appears that if it works with DVDs there should be a setting to make it work with music but I can't figure it out. I read about changing the speaker size in the settings but there is no such option with my system. It's a sub with a power cable by the way.
