problems with the sound on my tv

my new emerson tv sound will not go up and i have a wireless cable box att.
in the store it sounded great..
It also a energy saving model.. and i have checked and changed the wires..
what can i do

Do the volume buttons on the remote work? Do you get an indication that the sound is going up/down on the TV?

Is it the TV doesn't go loud enough for you?

yes the tv's controller works and yes its the tv.. the doesn't go enough 100 percent sounds like 20

Ok sounds quite possible its a hardware problem, I would return it.

Make sure that the ATT wireless box doesn't have a volume control. It that is set low it would limit the volume that the TV could produce.
