I am having trouble reading my sd card. After formatting it on my nikon d5000, and then using an otg cable on my samsung tablet it is recognised and accessible. However when I put it back in the camera, take a picture and return to the tablet it is not recognised.
On a PC it is recognised and the pictures can be seen via the card slot, but not when using the usb port.
Is this likely to be a card problem?

Go to Nikon's website and check whether there are any firmware updates. Digital cameras also have updates similar to computer OS updates (Microsoft's update Tuesday, former patch Tuesday).

To update the firmware connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and follow directions on Nikon's website.

Been on the Nikon site, camera up to date apart from a lens distortion update, Found an old sd card (250mb) formatted that and it works fine. So looking like it could be the card itself, or the USB card reader having problems. Will buy another of each tomorrow and confirm one way or the other.

New card and all is fine, weird.
