I'm working on a DIY project. One of the steps requires cutting out a 13cmx13cm plate of 1/4inch aluminium and then drilling 4 holes in the plate. The placement of the holes and dimensions of the square have to fairly exact. So I decided to use MS Paint to draw a box with crosses to mark the where I have to drill, print out the drawing at a 1:1 scale, and paste it onto the sheet of aluminium that I have.
Unfortunately, MS Paint does not want to cooperate. I can't place the cursor at exactly 13cm from the origin. It seems to 'jump' from 12.99cm to 13.02cm, distorting the dimensions of my box. When I am measuring the placement of the crosses for the holes, this 'jump' happens again compounding the error. The same issue crop ups in paint.NET.
Funny thing is, I thought there would be a ton of software that lets you make a simple drawing composed of lines measured in cm. or in. and print it out at 1:1 scale. But, I can't find a single one. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knew of a software that can do this, or a way to increase the precision of the pointer in paint to fix the 'jump' described above.
Thank You
