Hello, I have a Westinghouse DWM55F1G1, which does not appear to support ARC, but also does not have a place to plug in the Optical Digital Cable that came with the Sony HT-CT390 sounder/subwoofer I just bought. There is no trouble with the power, and I played music from my iPod via bluetooth with no issue. I'm connected to the TV through an HDMI cable, but I don't hear any sound coming from the soundbar. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!

According to the manual

your TV has a coax digital audio out next to the USB port. You may need to convert this to optical digital audio

or a DAC to convert to analog audio

depending on the connections on the soundbar. Optical digital audio input is very likely.

Hey! Thank you so much, this was exactly right. I really appreciate it. Huge frustration relieved. Before this, I also tried an Optical/Toslink to HDMI ARC converter, which totally didn't work. But the Toslink to Coaxial did!
