Hello, Today I am looking for a good camera that is great for mainly taking videos, as I will be doing vlogs, and also good pictures. Which camera would you recommend?
G9X or Sony DSC-RX100/B

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0167Q104K/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I am on a budget but if there is a major difference in cameras I am willing to spend more.
Thank You! :)

Go with the Sony.
Before the 1st RX was released, everyone said the prosumers wont buy it, and the consumer wont pay to buy it.
Sony now even does go up to pro grade with the RX lineup, running at 4000$ for the top one.

If you can, go with something like the mirrorless alpha 5100/5200/6000/6100, since you can swap lenses etc.

Has to be the RX? Then i would prefer the Rx100-III (viewfinder) or the RX100-II.
Was selling them at military retail stores, and ppl were really happy with them...

Google "Canon PowerShot G9 X review" then "Cyber-SHOT DSC-RX100 review". Keep all tabs open.

Read 2-3 reviews from different sites for each camera...much more info than we can provide!!

Another good thing to do is google something like "best compact zoom 2016" - substitute to fine tune your search if needed. Check out 2-3 different hits.

Then you'll be able to wisely select based on your needs.

Good researching!

I do understand - my head always hurts when I do the same thing!
Tomshardware is mainly geared towards PC related things. You might be lucky and find a pro camera expert but I'd recommend you post the same question in a few camera/video related forums.
Still, if you were to find a few reputable 'best camera...' sites through Googling the above then I would have hoped that info would highlight the main differences in reasonable detail, or highlight one above the other.
Additionally, when checking over reviews of the actual camera, write down what the reviewer says is the main selling points of each. Then compare the two lists. Google more if needed (I know...head gets more sore!)
