did you read what you wrote? I real writer would have interjected some of their own personal thoughts.

"Raw graphics processing power is expected to be 6 times that of the current console, and yield 20-percent greater performance than the upcoming Nintendo Wii U."

"Meanwhile, unnamed sources are reporting that Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console could achieve roughly twice the processing and graphical potential of Microsoft’s current generation Xbox 360."

Is this possible?

On one hand you are saying the new xbox will be 6 times as powerful as the old, yielding 20% more power than the new wii. And on the other hand you are saying the new Wii will achieve twice the graphical power of the old xbox.

Lets put this is basic numbers. For the below example we will say the Xbox 360 had a graphical power of 10.

Hand one - Xbox 360 power = 10
Xbox 720 power = 10 x 6 = 60
Wii U power = 20% of 60 =48
Hand two - Xbox 360 power = 10
Wii u power = 20

Seems like the math just doesn't add up.

Maybe if I use bigger numbers....

and one - Xbox 360 power = 1000
Xbox 720 power = 1000 x 6 = 6000
Wii U power = 20% of 6000 =4800
Hand two - Xbox 360 power = 1000
Wii u power = 2000

looks like the math gives us a bigger gap...

this gets even better... if you go to radeons page where it compares the two cards, the one the Wii-u will have is stronger.

I suspect in a lot of these articles is a certain level of fanboyism and lots of facts missing

So... for me PC rules everytime. But i wouldn't mind one of the new consoles, just for fun. I have one ps3 and one xbox360, both of them with all the accessories (kinect, motion sensors, etc), and both of them are getting dusty, the xbox more then the ps3. But....

"It is confirmed that PlayStation 4 games are currently under development, and Sony is set to launch the games somewhere around the same time as the PlayStation 4 release. The games are also expected to be available in the PlayStation online store, where you will be able to buy and download games instantly.
Sony is also developing high-quality games, new technology, and integration with 3D and dedicated gaming. Mick Hocking, Senior Director at Sony Worldwide Studios revealed a head-mounted display (picture wraparound glasses), which reveals incredibly clear, high-end 3D graphics."

PS4 vs. Xbox720? If the rumours about the ps4 are true, Microsoft needs to come back on earth and not to take the EA/Origin path.

Did Microsoft not learn from the failure of PSP Go? Unless they end up making the games $2-$10 like they are on other account tied platforms like iOS, the 360 will be the last console I buy from Microsoft.

btw.. if anyone wants to know this came up with the playstation 3 as being an option when it was first taped out... guess what... didn't happen

I highly doubt MS would actually implement it considering how much bad press Sony got when they OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED it... this announcement isn't official but pure speculation from a so-called person working on a title

This article isn't completely accurate. The new mechanism, as I understand it, is that you CAN sell or trade a game. Any multiplayer title will be registered to your device. Once you trade it, it will be unregistered to your device and can be registered with someone else allowing them to play it. BUT you cannot re-register that same game to your device.. i.e. once you trade it or sell it, there is no getting that one specific game/disc back.

Microsoft should learn from Ubisoft's mistake. Implementing DRM or another similar mechanism is a BIG failure. As skilled as Microsoft's programmers can be. They're no match for the open source community.

Aren't developers switching to consoles for their significantly higher sales figures? And they still want more?
