Hey guys,
I just bought a pair of Astro A40s and I have been trying to get 7.1 to work. I have them plugged in to my Asus xonar DGX through optical connection and through the mixamp pro. However, I cannot change the sound output to more than 2 channels in the sound setting and therefore cannot get the 7.1 surround, as it requires you to set your sound card up to 5.1, which my card can do. In the xonar control pannel, I have no option for Dolby Digital, but just PCM.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

well they are headphones. they have 2 speakers so 2 channels. thats what they call "stereo". thats the best it gets. using virtual surround is a great option though.

you cant get true surround sound out of 2 speakers is what im trying to say. even if you could change it to 7.1 surround its not like it would be actual 7.1 surround.
