Asus Laptop Sound Problem

Hi!
So, my laptop has had sound problems for a long time. Usually it starts with a crackling sound in the speakers and then the sound stops working completely. Then if I put it in sleep mode and starts it again, usually the sound works again.

But now the sound doesn't work at all. No sound from the speakers or the audio jack. I can only hear a low buzzing sound in my headphones if I turn the volume from 0 to 100.

So now I'm wondering...Is it possibly the IO board that is faulty? Or the HDD board? Or something else?

When I opened my laptop, I realized that the IO board was slightly burned underneath.

But the weird thing is that the card reader and the USB port which are also on the IO board, are still working.

The sound works if I connect it to my TV with a HDMI cable.

Check this utility, Download Install and Run it. Once opened Run diagnostic on Audio, This should tell you whether or not hardware is causing the issue. If its not hardware, run inbuilt troubleshooting from settings, if its windows 10.
If you know how to uninstall audio drivers from device manager, do it and restart computer without installing it manually, let windows do it.

If you need steps in detail, don't hesitate. Ask for it ! We shall Help you.

Unfortunately, the program won't load. .. I have tried running it as admin. I have a Win 10 64 bit system in my computer.

Are there any similar programs I could try instead?

I also uninstalled all the audio drivers, but it didn't solve the problem.

Btw, my laptop's model number might be X555UJ. Under my computer it says: R556U, but when I did a "system check" it said X555UJ.

Open RUN box
Hold down windows key and press R once
In the box type in winver and click ok
Tell me what's the version number you see.

HDMI audio does not go through the same soundcard as the headphone jack, it is handled by the video drivers.

Okay, this was weird. The sound started working later last night. I mean, at first it didn't work after I had installed the new drivers.

Anyway, I'm really happy now and I hope the sound continues to work!

But I still have some questions. How can a "bad" driver make the sound "crackle" and "buzz"?
I mean, it sounded more like a loose contact/faulty hardware or something. The problem usually appeared when I tilted or moved the laptop.
