Asus R501vm Backlit keyboard

Hi Toms Hardware community,
I have an Asus R501vm laptop and some of the laptops keys died out on me, ive tried multiple methods that ive read online and none have worked so far.

So im deciding that its best to go with another keyboard. The current keyboard I have right now is a back lit keyboard.

My question is if i buy the non backlit version of my keyboard would it still fit?

Would the cables be different in any way or would it be plug and play?

Hi,

If you'll use a non backlight keyboard it should still work but you'll have a ribbon cable lying inside your laptop so better just get the backlight keyboard.
