HDMI vs USB Video Quality

Hi. When I play movies on my PS4 (connected via hdmi to my tv), videos are grainy especially on dark scenes.otion blur is very apparent. In contrast, when i play same movies in usb (which will i connect directly to my tv) , it is less grainy and have overall a better quality video. Why is this so? What can I do about it? Thanks

TV's graphic processor better than PS4?

Dump PS4, upgrade PS4, maybe to a HTPC with one of them Nvidia thingy?

Same experience here with LG 4k tv paired with Sony blu ray player via HDMI. If I rip my movies to USB drive then connect USB drive to TV, they play better -- sharper and detail-rich -- than when I play the discs on my blu ray player whet the image becomes softer and not detail-rich. Does quality degrade when using HDMI compared to USB (which is basically raw food transfer)?
