Hi everyone.

I just recorded a TV program thorugh my provider's decoder to an USB and later opened it in my PC.

The file format is TS (I did my research and found it is a MPEG-2 type of container), but sadly none of my programs can open it (VLC, Media Player).

Then I looked for converters for that type of format but it ended without success.

I realized the TS file I have is a modified one, and that is why any of the programs can read it.

So if any one here knows about this type of files and knows a way to edit them so they can become convertible, I would really appreciate that.

Regards!

Solution
The file is probably encrypted. It will only decode with the original recording hardware. This is to prevent distribution of copyrighted material.

Well... That's fair. I should have realized that
I guess I wasted all the efforts trying to figure it out.

Thank You very much!

You're right, but sadly, I recorded that with my providers decoder, so like kanewolf said, is to prevent distribution of copyrighted material.

Thank You anyway!
