My high school is introducing a "bring your own devices" system and i'm having trouble finding a laptop that suits my needs. I already have a laptop in mind but there are a few drawbacks its the Asus Transformer Book T100.

There are a few things that i would like this laptop to have
500gb HDD
Intel Atom, i3 or i5
Very long battery life (must have)
4gb of ram
a decent graphics card
10-13 inches
light
Windows 8

My budget is around $500-$800 i'm not sure how much my parents will pay but they said it can't be too expensive.

Thank You to anybody who answers.

What kind of games will you be playing? you could get a cheap laptop ( i would suggest a t100 or a chromebook) and separate machine for gaming. T100+ps4= 700 dollars. The t100 does not have the nicest keyboard however. Its a tough price point.

It's hard to run games on a laptop with that budget. My laptop is the ASUS K55VD. It is EXTREMELY reliable and will NEVER fail you but hardcore games isn't where it shines. Having said that I did playgames like Battelfield 4 but at very low settings (which still looks pretty good to be honest) and games like CoD.

You should look at that laptop as it fits all ofyour needs apart from10-13 inches. Since this isforschool it could be a mafor turn off but if not you'll be good. By the way incase you are wondering the one I have has

Intel Core i3 @ 2.3GHz
Nvidia GeForce 610M
6GB RAM @ 1600MHz ( not too sure about the speed, sorry)

I would go for the lenovo y50 as it is made for gaming. But remember that it will be a lot hotter than most ultrabooks when gaming and may make a lot of noise. The main problem is that you need something that is small and powerful which don't mix.

I would give that best answer! I'm not sure how to remove it from your other question.
