monitor to a receiver

Hi, i'm looking for a solution.
i have onkyo ht-r390 receiver, hdtv, pc.
i just got a monitor dell s2340m, turns out it does not have hdmi .
is there a way to connect to my pc and share desktop on both screens?

We need more information on what graphics card you are using and what TV.

graphic card is hd 6950 1gb. tv is samsung 50 inch.
i got dvi cable and dell works fine now, but for some reason i cant extend or duplicate the desktop, any ideas?

haha, unbelievable, all i had to do is to connect dell monitor to the second dvi port on the card .
