New Head Set doesn't work properly

I bought brookstones Cat Ear headset. I can get the mic to work, or I can get the speakers to work. I can't get them to work at the same time. I've tried every plug on my computer and i've tried every plug using every possible setting (line in, headphones, speakers, mic, etc)(i may have missed a few plug option combinations). either i get the mic or i get sound and that's just frustrating.
I'm using a windows 10 computer with a gigabyte motherboard. I don't have a sound card.

You pretty much answered your own question "I don't have a sound card" ,i'm pretty sure there is always a sound card in a PC and if your Head Set have 2 wires,connect them to a specific location,if that doens't work update your sound drivers
