I think the title for this article should read "Disgruntled old man shoots employee at store he was banned from entering." He obviously knew exactly what he was doing if he listed off the names of employees that he wanted to shoot. This is just a case of an old man with poor judgment.

Why don't all you people get off your soapboxes and have a little empathy.

First off, the guy was 79 years old. In this day and age many young people belittle older people when it come to tech such as cell phones.

Next, how have many of you felt when you realize that you have to sign a 2 year contract just to have crappy phone service, or got some $500+ bill from a cell company that was clearly their mistake, or found crazy overage charges on your bill because of a misleading explanation of how overage works, or even the most common one, a dropped call.

The guy was old and probaby felt ripped off by this younger tech generation and did the only thing he knew how in order to fight back.

It's funny that the store can ban him from coming in, but somehow I bet the billing dept didn't put the ban on taking the old mans money.

In no parallel dimension can I justify the unjust shootings of a crazy old man. I can understand why he may have been frustrated, but there are other avenues to rectify this and murder is not one. Let's face it, he was planning to kill them.

[citation][nom]annymmo[/nom]Djee, I don't know...Maybe police officers.[/citation]

I really wish people would think about what they say before they say it.

It's a tragedy it came to this, and it was fortunate for the employees the off-duty police officer was there to prevent any further needless violence.

It is irresponsible for us as citizens to assume the police will always be there to protect us. The assumptions your comment makes are so wrong, I'm not sure where to begin.

*bang bang* Can you hear me now?

oops, thats verizon...maybe thats next weeks news ..

The next ATT commercial will display a map comparing their customer service representatives shot on the job to Verizon's.

Seriously customer service representatives need to be properly trained and paid so they can maintain at least reasonable conduct while dealing with customers. And I am in no way blaming the employee(s) of ATT for the incident.

Ive dealt with CSR at other companies I would have given a smack down for the way they treated me on the telephone. Primarily hanging up on me repeatedly, telling me "I don't give a #u&$," etc.. But anyone who would make a plan and a list of people to kill for lousy customer service obviously has issues even worse than AT&T's wireless service.

at&t 1) doesn't honor their contracts, 2) has bad customer service, 3) spell your name wrong just to fuck with you (they look at your drivers license and credit card, why cant they just spell your name right) 4) sell your information to junk mail/telemarketers 5) makes you buy an expensive plan you dont need 6) has slow 3g 7) send me bills for $0.00 every month for a year now because i canceled my plan, retards

[citation][nom]Repelsteeltje[/nom]No, it isn't. Quite the opposite, in fact. It's a perfect example of why perhaps cops should have weapons, but not random hotheads that might use them in random acts of insanity. Call me a typical European, but common people walking around with loaded guns on streets and in shops in New York city doesn't make me want to visit there. Do you really feel safe knowing how many hot-headed idiots walk the streets with loaded guns ready to do permanent damage? Don't go into auto-pilot ranting about gun rights, think about this for a second. You can't honestly think that the gun part of this story makes it more appealing for tourists to come and visit your city, nor does a post asking for more guns in response to an article about gun crime. If he would have used his 79-year old fists, we all would have gotten a good laugh instead...[/citation]

No you don't understand and maybe IT IS because you're European. But here in America if you want to buy a gun illegally it is very easy. So if you're CRAZY and want to KILL someone like this old man you wouldn't have to worry about getting a gun. Changing the laws would just mean if the police officer WASN'T around there would be 4 DEAD people instead of 1 injured man because no law abiding citizens who can get guns legally would have the means to stop him.

so, they let 79 year old senile (obviously) men in the states keep their guns?? I find the whole "right to bare arms" very stupid but this is preposterous!!

I know this guy was a nut job but it does beg the question on how customers are being treated these days. But I have always wondered why if your getting lousy service don't you just quit?
I have worked in customer service in a automotive repair shop. I have had heated discussions with customers about issues that were their fault due to abuse of how they drove their car. Yet they felt the need to blame someone else! Seems we have a couple issues in this country. One is lack of accepting blame for our of problems and two lack of acceptance from companies when its their fault. I have always gotten better results from customer service when I did not go in kicking and screaming .

[citation][nom]Dawgsoverrebs[/nom]WOW as an at&t sales person I'm gonna have to start packin heat at work.[/citation]

There is nothing like a combat shotgun to take care of an angry consumer/robber.

[citation][nom]x3style[/nom]I guess the guy with the bright idea to give a gun to every idiot in USA is laughing his ass off now.[/citation]

That is why the attacker got gunned down... In France the whole country would have surrendered to that 79 years old dude. He would be Emperor by now.
