I recently purchased a Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2TB. I was wondering whether I should use the included software or use the backup options built in to Windows 10.

It really depends on what you wish to back up. If you'd want to include a system image of your Widnows OS, then you should keep in mind that the WD SmartWare tool can only perform data backups.
