[citation][nom]kato128[/nom]Why wouldn't it work? You could buy laser pointers on every corner and when they became illegal they vanished pretty well overnight. Why can't it be the same with guns? They were buying guns back off people and giving them a legal way to get rid of those guns so crying poor me is a bit of a cop out there because there was no financial hit. It boils down to people wanting their guns so much that they would break the law. Additionally some of those guns have made their way into the hands of criminals and mentally unstable people and that's why the crime hasn't dropped. All because some people couldn't do the right thing, as usual.[/citation]
Well, when people (throughout their lives) are fed that Weapons are a good thing, they protect you, all should have the right to have one. Then you finally obtain one, then 10 years later they say "nope, no more guns". Well, its something you feel you need to keep yourself protected, including your family. Whereas a laser pointer, well, lol.. don't "need" one and it isn't worth going to jail for (but regardless, I see the point you're trying to show). So of course people won't rid of their guns. And Criminals/mental people definantly won't either.
My Opinion, again, i'd love to own a Weapon myself. Good to have locked up for the "just in case" moments ya know? But, I'd much rather not have a gun if it means them Emotionally/Mentally Unstable people won't have one too.
