Hi,

Can anyone help me with chosing a laptop within the budget limit of 300-400$? I am still new at laptop stuff since i have been using desktop most of the time.

Quality of the laptop should be: smooth performance, long battery life, hardcore gaming (maybe not too much hardcore but could run most high end games in low graphics)

I found these two laptop

please let me know if those laptops are good? And also any other recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,
Clueless Kid

P.S Its ok if the laptop is refubrished or repackeged new as long as it is not used for more than a month.

Out of the 2, The Asus one is the better one.
But you should know, NONE of those will be running games outside of Solitaire, Minesweeper and maybe like indie games from Steam. (Not hating on Solitaire). For Laptops because of the battery and the size, paying $400 for a laptop doesn't nearly equate to what you get for spending $400 on a desktop.

These would also beat either of those 2 and are under $400

Again neither of these are gonna be doing "Hardcore Gaming"

If you want to be able to play high end games, you're gonna have to invest close to $750+ maybe closer to $1000.

(also out of the two, while ASUS has a better build quality and more RAM, the Acer has a much better CPU for overall battery life.)

What about other types of Laptops? like Dell or Toshiba

Also, excluding gaming, Can these above laptops run smooth multitaskes and run heavy softwares like photoshop, Sony Vegas, Visual Studio programs and such alike?
