Is my motherboard on my dell inspiron 6000 bad

I have a dell inspiron 6000. It will not power up. Te power cord is working fine and I discharched any voltage and the battery has chargd. But still when I press the power button it starts to power up(nothing ever displays on the screen before it shuts off) but then it just turns off and nothing happens. From all other forums I have read it sounds like a bad mother board. Any thoughts? A MB is only $100 bucks to purchase and I could problably put it in (just installed a new lid and power button on my studio) but not sure if it is worth it???? Stumped!

is it still under warranty? go to your local dell service center

No it is not under warranty as I bought it in 2004. I don't want the cost of going to a dell svc center or any other svc center if it is something I could probably do myself. As it is an old computer it really isn't worth taking it somewhere to pay hundreds of dollars for them to look at or fix.

Go to ebay website, there's Dell 6000 motherboard sell it cheaper or some Seller ,they can
repair your MB with warranty
