Today I switched my UD team to Tom's Hardware Guide... It sure is lame I had to leave my 733 results at my old team, especially considering it was just me and another guy on the team and he doesn't even do it any more! Oh well... starting from the bottom. Watch out guys!!!

By the way, my handle is "4Michael" in UD...

I just installed UD on my work computer again. I've been out of it for a while but I figured I would fire it back up. There's quite a few more members on the team since I last checked. Of course that was probably a year ago :)

Yeah, I stopped crunching for Seti and started my computer on UD. I figured, "What the heck, I'll let ET come find me. I better help find a cure for cancer since I'm a smoker."

Well, something along that line. The only thing I don't like about UD is how long it takes to update the blasted stats page. Something like: You will see what your stats are from yesterday tomorrow. Doesn't matter what your computer says.

Well, as of right now, I have 1858 points and been running 2days, 9hours, 52min. I guess that's good.

u might wanto disable the "also do stuff for cure for anthrax"
??? The only check mark I have in my settings for UD is to do cancer research. I know that means less points for each WU compared to the smallpox research, but they do get crunched much faster than the 110 Ligands.

Anyways, I forgot to mention that I have a new screen name for UD: MustangDriver01

This is because I just went a bought a '01 Mustang. I also changed my nick in the seti project to MustangDriver, but since I'm not crunching for that, who really cares, right?

Well, thanks for the second warm welcome. I'll be moving up the ranks pretty soon since I run 24/7 and Overclock. Making plans to upgrade CPU to a XP2400 or 2600 and a set of Corsair Twin(?) DDR for my A7N8X (non dlx) board.

Also make really sure your PC is crunching right in its overclocked state before doing UD.
SuperPI or prime95 is a good test of this.

Certain overclocks ive had (with previous CPU's) have just produced garbage.

Ok, I ran SuperPI several times (one for each number upto 4M decimal digits) and saved each result with a different name. Then opened 3 of them up at random and on the smallest file, did a copy of several sets of digits and searched for it in the other two files. Well, found every set I looked for, so that tells me that my computer in its overclocked state is consistant with its calculations.

Can't wait to upgrade my CPU to a 2400+ or 2600+ and put in some matched sticks of PC2700 RAM and take a look at my rating compared to the baseline computer that UD uses for comparisons.

Yeah... thats the thing to do... do a binary file comparison on two really big superpi outputs or a prime95 run.

If all is correct then you can be confident your not producing garbage.

And its not hard to break the "standard computer" with UD.

im rated at 136 to 140 now...
AMD xp @ 1833 & 166fsb is good
heaps of HDD space
512mb ram
and now a LAN + adsl to bump up my internet rating.
not that it really matters terrily much.
just more points.

Quick update: Had trouble with the caching utility for UD and totally uninstalled everything and re-installed.

New handle on the THG UD team is now Mustang2001. I know, kinda corny naming yourself after the model/year of your car, but would rather that than use my real name.

Later dudes. Gotta let my puter work now.

Yay, I just joined! Now I'm finally crunching numbers to help find a cure for cancer. I also joined the THG UD Team. Watch out everyone!
