Want to set up home theatre system to PC

I want to set this up but I am unsure how to set it to get sound. I have 3 HDMI ports on the receiver. 2 are inputs and 1 output. One is hooked from the PS4 to the Receiver. The other input is from my PC (Graphics card) to the receiver. And finally the output is from my TV to the Receiver. It works flawlessly when I play on my PS4 but cannot get it to work on my PC.I have video but no audio and I am unsure how to make it work.

Graphics card: gtx 1060
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3
Receiver: Sony STR K7100

You need to select HDMI as your audio device in the PC audio or video control panel.

That’s what I thought too, but it’s grayed out and says not plugged in. Could it be a software issue on my computer or am I not doing something right?

Hook your PC to the TV and passthrough to the receiver. Make sure everything is USB 2.0 or better

Okay so jus to be clear, so hdmi cable goes from pc to tv And with another hdmi core connect that from my tv to the receiver. Is that right

you said above you already have a cable going from tv to receiver...so you would select the tv on your receiver and then change input to the pc on tv.

I did what you said but with no luck. still no sound.

I have the Sony STR K7100, and older reciever and can't figure out how to set it up to my pc. I set it up to my game console just fine. Would I need a converter or something? Scroll down and you'll see the pictures of the Receiver

I'm guessing your pc has hdmi out ... I would use that and connect to one of the hdmi ins of the receiver.

I actually did that but with no luck. I have 3 HDMI ports. So the two inputs are my PS4 and PC with the output being my tv
