Hello all!
I am fairly tech savvy, and am working on my first PC build. I was curious if my future rig could handle an HTC Vive, and have an enjoyable experience. Here's my list:

Case: Corsair Carbide Air 240
MoBo: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII GENE
CPU: Intel i7 6700K
Heatsink/Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200
Drives:
- ADATA Premier SP600NS34 M.2 2242 128GB
- SanDisk X400 512GB SSD
GPU: Dual SLI: EVGA Reference Classified ACX 2.0 GTX 980Ti
PSU: Corsair RM750X
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Any help appreciated!

Yeah it would be fine.

That said the new architecture is supposed to be WAY better for VR, the 980ti doesn't support a large number of features that will be crucial for VR as time goes on.

So should I just wait for the GTX 1080 Ti to come out? Or what do you think would be the best idea?

1080 ti coming or not is the big question. If you're willing to wait I would see what NVIDIA has planned. Otherwise I'd go with some 1080s.

Solution
Thank you for the help guys! I'll probably start off with one 1080, then wait and see if the Ti version comes out. If it does sometime in the near future, then I'll sell my 1080, and pickup two 1080 Ti's.
Much appreciated!

Thank you all for these replies. I wasn't quite firm on whether or not SLI or Crossfire affected VR. For now, I will just stick to my original plan, since it works out anyway.

I love it when a plan comes together! :ange:
